To develop this fear concept I wrote about in my Conquer Your Fears post, I’ll give you a short passage about from my book Fighting the Inside Dragons, where I’m handling the fear I had writing the book.

This time, I used a different technique: A.T. (automatic thought; a thought that comes into your head without you controlling it’s appereance) – C.T. (counter thought; the thought you use to argue with the first one; this is a thought you control):
A.T.: Why am I writing this book? It’s useless. There are so many books out there. How is this different? Why would people believe anything I say? I’ve done nothing with my life!
C.T.: There are many books out there, but none of them can be exactly the same. Maybe some of the stuff I’m putting here will spark some light in the mind of one of the readers. Maybe my unique style can do this. The chance of improving someone’s life is worth all the effort.
A.T.: Yes, it’s worth the effort, but I don’t think it would make any difference. There are so many influential people that wrote similar books, which I’ve read. Basically, there are the same ideas. What makes you think you’re on the same level with them? Because you’re not. Also, your English is not that good.
C.T.: I don’t have to be. I am ME! I’m a work in progress and this book is part of my progress. This helps me put some sort of order in my thoughts. It really makes me realize how important controlling my mind is and it brings some logic in this chaos, even though I might be wrong about things. Maybe others can relate to this. If it helps me, wouldn’t it be selfish not to share?
A.T.: Be prepared to be disappointed. It will be the worst book ever.
C.T.: Maybe, but let’s test that theory. Without mistakes, there is no progress.
For me, this worked as I managed to finish the book. I countered all my automatic thoughts so I push forward.
Which automatic thoughts you have that stops you from moving forward?

I think we all have those inner thoughts. What sets us apart is not letting them control you. Thank you for sharing.

That is really good. I didn’t realize there was a title for responding to the automatic thought with the counter thought.
If your book only helps one person ot was worth writing. This platform is also you to get word of the book out too.
Keep writing Biauthor, you have something to say and an audience who wants to hear from you.
