We often treat our emotions like intruders… things to be locked out, hushed, or managed as quickly as possible. But emotions aren’t threats; they are messengers. The problem is that it’s nearly impossible to hear what they’re saying. This occurs when we are in ‘survival mode’ or standing in the middle of a mental storm. To truly grow, we must create a sanctuary within ourselves. In this space, we can be messy, honest, and vulnerable. Here, we are free from judgment.

It leads us to a vital, nurturing question:
What steps can you take to establish a secure and encouraging environment for processing your emotions?
Building a sanctuary for your feelings isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity for your mental and spiritual health. Sometimes, that ‘secure environment’ starts with a quiet room. It may also begin with a set of colors. Finally, it includes the permission to be yourself.
If you’re seeking a structured way to create this haven, look no further than The 365Q Journey: Emotions. This book is the perfect companion, and this question has been taken from it.

Good one my friend.

What a beautiful, grounding reminder. I love the idea that emotions aren’t intruders but messengers—and that we need a sanctuary to hear them clearly. The quiet room, the colors, and the permission to simply be yourself all feel like such gentle, necessary steps!

I am definitely learning this~ emotions aren’t threats; they are messengers and that means they are allowed to be here. I don’t have to react to everything, but taking the time to hear them, receive them and understand my own feelings is such a different way to live!

Funny enough it would be anxiety and fear. These two have been hanging out with me a lot lately, and before I used to try to fight them, now I pause and let them flow and I’m learning to understand what they are telling me about how different situations are perceived by me. And I now move better. It is a work in progress, but let me tell you, it is much better than trying to fight them and still getting nowhere lol
