Quick question. When was the last time you caught yourself thinking “I’m not good enough” and just… believed it? No investigation, no cross-examination, no asking that thought for a single shred of evidence. You just nodded along like it was a fact stamped on your birth certificate.
Yeah. Me too. That’s basically how this whole dragon thing started.
Somewhere along the way, most of us picked up a set of beliefs about who we are and what we deserve, and we never bothered to check if they were true. We just built our entire lives around them like they were load bearing walls. Turns out, a lot of them are made of cardboard and bad memories, but they’ve been standing there so long we forgot we could knock them down.
That’s what Fighting the Inside Dragons is about. Not the dragons that live in castles and hoard gold. The other ones. The ones that live in your head and hoard your self-worth. The thought that tells you you’ll fail before you even try. The belief that you don’t deserve the good things once they show up. The voice that’s been narrating your life since you were a kid, using words someone else handed you.

I wrote this book because I got tired of watching my own brain sabotage me and decided to actually figure out why it does that. Turns out there’s biology behind it, there’s psychology behind it, and there’s a decent amount of “well that explains a lot” once you understand how core beliefs get built and how they quietly run the show without asking your permission first.
Here’s what you’re not getting: another book telling you to just think positive and manifest your dream life while sipping something green. I don’t believe in glasses tinted rose or black. I believe in taking the glasses off entirely and looking at what’s actually there, which is usually a mix of real problems and imaginary ones, tangled together so tight you can’t tell which is which anymore.
What you are getting is a knife, a sword, a shield and some armor. Metaphorically. Mostly. I break down exactly how automatic thoughts hijack your mood, how to catch them before they wreck your day, how fear actually operates and why it’s not your enemy, and how to build the kind of self-knowledge that makes other people’s opinions of you a lot less terrifying.
I also swear a fair amount and make jokes about unicorns, so if you were hoping for something clinical and sterile, this isn’t it. I wrote it the way I’d actually talk to a friend who’s stuck, not the way a textbook talks to a stranger.
You’ve probably got at least one dragon that’s been running unchecked for years.
Might be worth finding out its name.
